financial aid
PRIOR TO ENROLLING AT VIRGINIA MARTI COLLEGE, all
applicants are encouraged to explore the availability of
financial aid through state and federal agencies. Financial
aid information and application assistance is provided
by the college’s
Financial Aid Office to help each student and their family
understand the options that may be available to them. The
college is approved for the following grants and loans:
Grants:
Federal Pell Grant
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG).
Ohio Instructional Grant (Ohio residents only).
Loans:
William D. Ford Direct Subsidized Loan
William D. Ford Direct Unsubsidized Loan
William D. Ford Direct Parent Loan (PLUS)
Additional information
on eligibility requirements, alternative financing, amounts
available, interest rates and scholarships can be obtained
from the Financial Aid Office. Although Virginia Marti
College enrolls only full time students, we are required
on different occasions to report the number of students
in full-time or part-time status. Financial aid is determined
based on a fill-time, three-quarter-time or part-time
status and will not be re-evaluated based on individual
class drops once the quarter begins.
Full-time: 12 credit hours per quarter
Three-quarter time: 9 credit hours per quarter
Half-time: 6 credit hours per quarter
Students with less than 6 credit hours per quarter are
classified as less than half-time and may qualify for
limited amounts of financial aid.
The Veterans Administration may have different definitions
for full-time and part-time status. Students receiving
veterans’ benefits should talk to the veteran’s
certifying official on the campus.
